Job summary

Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a skilled Prototype Machinist to turn early-stage designs into functional hardware. You will own the complete machining process, from setup and programming to inspection, working with engineering to accelerate development in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of CNC experience, proficiency with GD&T, and a track record of delivering precise, high-quality components under tight timelines.

Qualifications

• 4+ years CNC machining experience including setup and operation of multi-axis milling and turning.
• Prototype/R&D or low-volume manufacturing experience in fast-paced environment.
• Strong proficiency reading drawings, CAD models, and GD&T.
• Experience setting up and operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centers.
• Ability to edit and troubleshoot G-code programs; knowledge of feeds and speeds.
• Proficiency using precision inspection equipment and interpreting inspection results.
• Safety-conscious with ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work hands-on in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Machine complex prototype and low-volume components on CNC mills/lathe.
• Interpret drawings, CAD models, and GD&T to determine strategies.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC equipment.
• Collaborate with design/manufacturing engineers to improve part manufacturability.
• Program, edit, and optimize CNC programs and toolpaths.
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections; ensure tight tolerances.
