Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Machinist to support the Prototyping Integration Facility (PIF) at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. You will fabricate, assemble and test components for C5ISR prototypes, working from engineering drawings and specifi-cations in a well-equipped shop.

The role requires experience with CNC machines, CAM operations, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. It offers hourly compensation under SCA with comprehensive health and welfare benefits and a strong path for professional

Qualifications

High School Diploma required.
Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program and have two years as a Journeyman Machinist or a minimum of eight years’ experience as a Journeyman Machinist.
Experience with machining equipment including CNC machines and CAM operation is required.

Responsibilities

Support the C5ISR Center in the Fabrication and Integration Branch.
Set up and operate a full range of machine tools in a prototype development shop.
Work from engineering design drawings and technical specifications.
Maintain dimensional accuracy to specified tolerances using measuring instruments.
Fabricate and construct mechanisms, models and instruments to engineering requirements.
Set up and operate CNC machines (Machining Center, Lathe, Milling) as needed.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
