Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Engineering Technician for a contract role based in Brick, NJ. The candidate will support prototype builds, engineering trials, and customer development activities by performing hands-on work with electronic and electromechanical assemblies.

Typical duties include assembling and testing with SMT equipment, soldering, rework, and following detailed drawings and SOPs. You will document results and collaborate closely with engineers on experiments and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling electronic and electromechanical assemblies.
• Ability to follow drawings, schematics, and SOPs precisely.
• Hands-on experience with SMT and prototype assembly equipment.
• Strong documentation and test-record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Support prototype builds, engineering trials and customer development work from setup to completion.
• Perform hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, soldering, rework and modification of assemblies.
• Follow drawings, schematics and SOPs to ensure high-quality results.
• Operate SMT and prototype equipment (pick-and-place, stencil/printing, reflow ovens).
• Assist with test fixture design, setup and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
• Inspect assemblies for workmanship and conformance to specs.
• Record test results and material information accurately.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists on experiments and projects.
