Techtronic Industries in Anderson, SC is seeking an Engineering professional to join the Advanced Concepts group. You will design, prototype, test, and refine concepts for future power tools and related products alongside industrial designers and engineers.

The role emphasizes hands‑on development, rapid prototyping, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver workable prototypes and clear feasibility recommendations for later product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design, concept development, and functional prototyping.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling.
• Demonstrated experience developing functional prototypes that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components.
• Hands‑on experience with various rapid prototype fabrication methods.
• Proficiency with embedded electronics and controls, including platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensors, motors, and related hardware integration.
• Experience using test and measurement equipment to evaluate product performance, including vibration, sound, environmental, and durability testing.
• Knowledge and application of user‑centered design methodologies, including customer research, observational studies, usability testing, and iterative concept refinement.
• Software Office, NX, SolidWorks, Altium, Photoshop, Microsoft Project

Responsibilities

• Ideate and create prototypes that demonstrate future solutions for future product needs.
• Ideate and create demos showcasing our products’ performance and features
• Work with cross functional team that includes, Industrial Designers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers
• Build and Manage budget, schedule, and quality expectations to meet key milestones
• Communicate technical details and concepts to both technical and non‑technical team members
