Job summary

Techtronic Industries in Anderson, SC is seeking an Engineering design prototyper in the Advanced Concepts group to develop prototypes for future power tool products. You will work with designers and engineers to translate concepts into functional demonstrations and test fixtures.

The role emphasizes hands-on fabrication, rapid prototyping, and clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive feasibility and concept recommendations for product development.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or B.A. in Industrial Design.
• 0 - 3 years’ experience in design, prototyping, and/or test fixture development.
• 3D CAD experience.
• Experience with hands-on fabrication methodologies (3D printing, woodworking, metal working).
• Experience with electronics including Arduino and Raspberry PI is a plus.
• Understanding of key performance metrics such as power, speed, and torque.
• Experience with measurement equipment for vibration & sound is a plus.
• An eye for aesthetically pleasing designs is a plus.

Responsibilities

Come join the team at Techtronic Industries, the world leader in cordless technology spanning Power Tools, Outdoor Power Equipment, Floor Care Appliances and Accessories. We currently have an open Engineering position in the Advanced Concepts group at our Anderson, SC office.

Advanced Concepts is an interdisciplinary innovation group of designers and engineers within the Power Tool division, tasked with developing cutting-edge concepts for brands such as RYOBI and RIDGID. You will work hand and hand with other Advanced Concepts team members, as well as engineering, industrial design, analytical, and project management groups to deliver functional prototypes that can be evaluated for feasibility or concept recommendations that can be used for later product development. Your day-to-day activities will include: brainstorms, designing and building prototypes, feasibility testing, and concept refinement. We are a very hands-on group that thrives on learning throughout our diverse projects to create new and innovative products.
