Job summary

Techtronic Industries in Anderson, SC is seeking an Engineering design prototyper in the Advanced Concepts group to develop prototypes for future power tool products. You will work with designers and engineers to translate concepts into functional demonstrations and test fixtures.

The role emphasizes hands-on fabrication, rapid prototyping, and clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive feasibility and concept recommendations for product development.

Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical or B.A. in Industrial Design.
0 - 3 years’ experience in design, prototyping, and/or test fixture development.
3D CAD experience.
Experience with hands-on fabrication methodologies (3D printing, woodworking, metal working).
Experience with electronics including Arduino and Raspberry PI is a plus.
Understanding of key performance metrics such as power, speed, and torque.
Experience with measurement equipment for vibration & sound is a plus.
An eye for aesthetically pleasing designs is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ideate and create prototypes that demonstrate future solutions for future product needs.
Ideate and create demos showcasing our products’ performance and features.
Work with cross functional team that includes, Industrial Designers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.
Build and Manage budget, schedule, and quality expectations to meet key milestones.
Communicate technical details and concepts to both technical and non-technical team members.
