Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a Prototype CNC Machinist to take complex parts from handoff through finished hardware in a fast-paced, development environment in Costa Mesa, CA. You will set up and run multi-axis CNCs, establish offsets, prove out programs, inspect features, and collaborate with CNC programmers and engineers to adapt tooling and processes on the fly.

Qualifications

4+ years hands-on CNC machining experience.
Experience setting up and running multi-axis CNC equipment, including 3+2 or higher.
Working knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, G/M code, tooling, offsets, feeds and speeds.

Responsibilities

Own CNC setups from start to finish, including stock verification, workholding, tooling, offsets, prove-out, and inspection.
Run complex multi-axis equipment (3+2, 5-axis, turning, live-tool) and expand capabilities across the shop.
Interpret drawings and GD&T to guide setup and inspection decisions.
Catch problems early by reviewing toolpaths and machining conditions; adjust parameters as needed.
Inspect own work in-process with precision metrology tools and verify critical dimensions before finishing.
Collaborate with CNC programmers and engineers when tooling or approaches need changing for efficiency.
Maintain speed without sacrificing quality in a fast-paced R&D environment where one-off parts move quickly from design to hardware.
