You will program, set up, run, and inspect parts on large-format 5-axis gantry systems, collaborating with design and manufacturing engineers to optimize DFMs and tooling. This role emphasizes innovation in prototype hardware for national security tech.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of CAM programming and 5+ years CNC setup/operation.
• Experience with composite materials (carbon fiber prepreg, fiberglass, Kevlar) and tooling.
• Strong G-code/M-code, HD 5-axis, GD&T, CMS 5-axis machines, Fanuc controls.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate 5-axis CNC gantry routers/mills for composite parts.
• Provide feedback to design/manufacturing engineers to optimize DFM.
• Design and fabricate robust work holding and fixtures for delicate components.
• Machine master models and direct-to-part molds from foam and pattern materials.
• Troubleshoot complex composite machining challenges (delamination, fiber pull-out, thermal degradation).
• Perform in-process QC and dimensional verification for prototypes.
