Job summary

IBA Proton Therapy in Boca Raton, FL, is seeking a hands-on Engineer to install, operate and maintain our Proton Therapy System (PTS). You’ll troubleshoot, perform maintenance, support testing, and contribute to system upgrades while directly supporting clinical operations and global performance.

You will collaborate with clinical staff, engineers, and R&D to improve reliability, safety, and usability of the system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Relevant technical experience in electronics/electrical system troubleshooting, mechanical system design and repair, and operation of large systems.
• Ability to work autonomously on well-defined tasks.

Responsibilities

• Document system symptoms, troubleshooting activities, root cause findings, and corrective actions accurately to improve knowledge sharing and reduce future downtime.
• Build trusted relationships with clinical staff by serving as a dependable technical advisor and providing clear communication.
• Manage and mentor team members while maintaining a collaborative work environment.
• Represent the company professionally as the primary technical point of contact at the customer site.
• Operate, maintain, and optimize the Proton Therapy System through deployment and clinical operations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, software, and integrated system issues.
• Partner with Engineering to improve equipment reliability and usability.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, system upgrades, and scheduled inspections.
• Communicate system status, risks, and recovery plans clearly to customers and internal teams.
• Provide training to customers on safe and effective operation of the Proton Therapy System.
