Job summary

The Mass Spectrometry core lab within Process Development (PDMS) at New England Biolabs is seeking a Post-baccalaureate Fellow to develop methods for identifying protein degradation and to support core sample preparation and analysis. The role offers exposure to proteomics and analytical biochemistry in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in chemistry/biology, hands-on lab experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or related field.
• Understanding of proteins and analytical tools.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with common techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication, collaborative spirit.
• Multi-tasking and enthusiastic about learning new methods.

Responsibilities

• Biochemical assays including enzymatic assays, SDS-PAGE, and protein quantification.
• Sample preparation via proteolytic digests (in-gel, FASP, MAP).
• Operate ESI-MS/MS instruments (Ascend, QE) and calibrate LC systems.
• Process, interpret, and report data (PEAKS, Protein Metrics).
• Prepare buffers/standards for the PDMS lab and maintain instruments.
