Job summary

Helix BioStructures, LLC is seeking a Scientist focused on protein production to build and optimize recombinant protein expression and purification pipelines across bacterial, insect, and mammalian systems. You will work closely with clients and project teams to deliver well-characterized protein reagents for structural biology studies and drug discovery.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree requirements as listed above; hire level based on experience.
• Experience expressing/purifying proteins in bacterial, insect, and mammalian systems.
• Proficiency with analytical/biophysical techniques for protein quality assessment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to generate and characterize milligram to gram quantities of proteins.

Responsibilities

• Express and purify proteins to target quality and yield within industrial timeframes.
• Document data and communicate priorities, progress and results with clients/project teams.
• Provide technical/scientific input to project teams and mentor other members.
• Deliver timely project updates to supervisor and customers via reports and presentations.
• Contribute to improving expression/purification methods to accelerate discovery.
