Job summary

State of Georgia's Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Intake Specialist 2 for the Child Protective Services Intake Communication Center (CICC). You will obtain and document detailed information on alleged abuse or neglect and determine priority classifications, working Monday to Friday from 9:00 PM to 5:30 PM in a day shift.

As a member of the DFCS, you will communicate policy information to the public and referral services, relay reports to protective services

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year in a customer service setting handling questions or complaints.
• OR 1 year experience at the lower-level Child Welfare Svc Intake Spc 1 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents detailed information concerning all alleged abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children.
• Reviews intake reports, assesses severity per policies, and assigns a priority classification.
• Assesses intake reports for priority, allegation type, and handling.
• Provides and communicates policy information to the public, community organizations, and referral services.
• Relays reports of abuse or neglect to appropriate protective services field staff.
• Documents and records information from calls, referral, and other correspondence.
