Job summary

State of Georgia, Department of Human Services, is seeking an APS Central Intake Specialist to collect and review maltreatment referrals, determine APS criteria, and coordinate intervention or referral steps. The role requires strong communication, accurate documentation, and adherence to program guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• OR One (1) year of experience at lower level APS Intake CM 1 (SSP180) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Gathers referral information from reporters via telephone interviews, written reports or face to face contacts.
• Assess APS referral information and determine whether the situation meets APS criteria.
• Provides information and referral services on situations that do not meet APS criteria.
• Document pertinent referral information in Harmony; classify as Investigation or Intervention as appropriate.
• Clear the name of the referred person in Harmony to determine active history.
• Note findings in Harmony and prepare acknowledgement letters.
