Job summary

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) seeks an Adult Protective Services Central Intake Specialist to gather and assess maltreatment referrals, determine APS criteria, and document actions in Harmony. The role requires statewide travel and may include telework depending on position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience in public service.
• At least one year of experience at lower level APS Intake CM 1 or equivalent.
• Preference for experience with vulnerable populations and public service ethics.

Responsibilities

• Gathers referral information via telephone, written reports, or in person.
• Assesses information and determines APS criteria applicability.
• Provides information and referral services when APS criteria are not met.
• Documents referral details thoroughly in Harmony system.
• Classifies reports as Investigation or Intervention as appropriate.
• Clears names in Harmony to check for active history and notes findings.
• Follows up with acknowledgement letters and saves records.
