Job summary

American Electric Power in Michigan is seeking a P&C Technician II to install, test, and maintain protection and control devices and related equipment across stations and communications systems. You will assist in acceptance testing, calibrations, and troubleshooting under supervision, while maintaining records and supporting safety compliance.

Qualifications

Associate degree/equivalent in electrical/electronic technology or related field.
No prior work experience required.
Must obtain qualifications for the next higher classification as per progression.

Responsibilities

Assist in installation and performance of acceptance tests on protection, control, and measurement devices and equipment in stations.
Assist in installation, maintenance, and operation of power line carriers, station SCADA, and communications equipment.
Perform switching under direct supervision of qualified personnel.
Maintain test equipment and records and drawings.
Test and calibrate protection & control devices on pre-established schedules.
Assist with diagnosis and corrective actions for equipment issues.
