Indiana Michigan Power Company is seeking a P&C Field Technologist Associate to perform programming, testing, calibration and maintenance of protective relays and related protection and control equipment across substations and SCADA networks.

The role involves field work, occasional outdoor duties, and collaboration with dispatch and project teams. Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program and readiness to travel or respond to outages as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in ABET-accredited engineering program or ABET-accredited engineering technology program.
• Ability to follow guidance on technical functions and understand standards, codes and regulations.
• Willingness to travel and respond to emergencies as needed.

Responsabilités

• Test and calibrate protection and control devices on a scheduled basis.
• Assist switching at various voltage levels under Dispatching Authority.
• Maintain test equipment, records, reports and drawings.
• Install, maintain and operate relays, PLCs, SCADA and related communications gear.
• Troubleshoot electromechanical and microprocessor-based relays and diagnose faults.
• Read schematics to verify site installations match the design.
• Support new P&C system installations for capital projects.
• Coordinate with contract personnel and on-site technical lead.
• Work outdoors in varied seasonal conditions when required.
