Job summary

AEP in Niles, MI is hiring a P&C Technician II to support installation, testing and maintenance of protection and control devices across stations. You’ll perform tests, calibrations and data retrieval, ensuring reliable operation and safety compliance under supervision.

Preferred candidates hold an Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or related field, with ability to travel and to advance through the career path.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or related field; or equivalent education/experience.
• No previous work experience required.
• Must complete qualifications to perform the duties of the next higher classification as determined by the Company.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation and performance of acceptance tests on protection, control, and measurement devices.
• Assist in installation and maintenance of power line carriers, station SCADA, and related communications equipment.
• Perform switching under direct supervision of qualified personnel.
• Maintain test and automotive equipment in good order for safe operations.
• Prepare and maintain records, reports and drawings as required.
