Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer in Huntsville, AL, to translate engineering intent into scalable propulsion hardware. You will support subassembly and final assembly, run special COPV, MLI, and heater processes, and develop clear manufacturing instructions.

The role emphasizes quality, safety, and continuous improvement, with A- and B-Shift coverage and strong cross‑functional collaboration across design, test, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience creating English-language work instructions.
• Willingness to work B-Shift (M–TH, 12:00PM–10:30PM) with flexibility for extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional propulsion hardware.
• Support manufacturing floor activities for propulsion subassembly and final assembly/integration, ensuring compliance and testing.
• Execute special process work instructions for COPV tank installation, heater installation, and MLI blanket installation.
• Harness routing and protection within propulsion module and spacecraft.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions for propulsion hardware.
• Disposal root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions through MRB and CAPA processes.
• Create in‑build redlines and recommend engineering changes to improve producibility.
• Perform engineering drawing reviews and approve manufacturing documentation.
• Conduct FMEA studies to strengthen feedback between design, build, and test.
• Drive DFMA across the propulsion product lifecycle and lead process improvements.
