Job summary
Blue Origin is seeking an experienced structural/thermal analyst for the Lunar Permanence program in Washington. You will perform structural and dynamic analyses on valves, tubing, mounts, and thermal protection components, supporting design certification and providing technical oversight to other analysts.
The role requires 8+ years in structural analysis, proficiency with ANSYS/Abaqus, and Creo Pro/E experience.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
- 8+ years in structural and dynamic analysis of pressurized components and systems.
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS and/or Abaqus).
- 3D CAD experience (Creo Pro/E) and Pro/E Piping module.
- U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Conduct structural and dynamic analysis of valves, tubing, mounts, etc.
- Analyze non-linear thermal protection materials and attachments.
- Support design certification for thermal structural components.
- Provide technical guidance and review for analysts.
- Identify opportunities for safety, weight, and cost improvements.
- Support configuration development and trade studies.
- Review supplier analyses and qualification efforts.
- Maintain and report on tasks, schedules, and status.
