Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced structural engineer to design, analyze, and test secondary structures for lunar transportation hardware. You will create 3D models, detailed drawings, and interface control documents, while supporting manufacturing and integration teams to deliver flight-grade hardware.

The role requires a strong background in metallic components, vehicle load paths, and material selection, with proficiency in Creo/Windchill and FEA tools.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering.
• 8+ years in automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
• Experience in structural design of metallic components and assemblies.
• Knowledge of vehicle load path distribution and first-order strength assessment.
• Material selection, compatibility and manufacturing techniques.
• Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.
• Familiar with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).

Responsibilities

• Design, analysis, development, and testing of secondary structures, including composites and metals.
• Create 3D models, detail part drawings, assemblies, and interfaces.
• Provide manufacturing and production support for hardware.
• Provide technical guidance for integration and trade studies.
• Plan, design, and execute tests and review data for flight hardware.
• Maintain activity schedules, budgets, and technical status.
