Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Development Technician II (Inerts) to bring rocket motor components from early development to LRIP readiness. You will work with engineering and production teams, refining in-process instructions and assisting with tooling and processes.

This front-line role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and 5S/continuous improvement. A 4+ year manufacturing or development background, ability to lift 50 lbs, and experience with machining and metrology help you

Qualifications

• Able to lift 50 lbs without assistance.
• Knowledge of milling, turning and machining processes.
• Advanced aptitude around mechanical systems and tools.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience with hazardous materials handling.
• Experience using metrology instruments.
• Experience collaborating with engineering to improve processes.
• 4+ years in manufacturing or development environment.
• Ability to wear a respirator.

Responsibilities

• Bring products from early development to LRIP state with engineering and production teams.
• Help engineers redline and improve in-process work instructions for development motors.
• Document knowledge during time-critical processes and ensure cross-team sharing.
• Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
• Provide guidance to Operations Technicians on LRIP products and issues.
• Assist engineering with fabrication and installation of tooling.
• Complete daily/weekly transactions in production systems.
• Maintain daily records and perform work verifications.
