Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville is seeking an engineer to design and develop combustion devices for rocket engines, from initial requirements through flight qualification. You will apply fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and structural mechanics to deliver safe, repeatable space flight.

Reporting to a Combustion Devices Manager within the Engines unit, you will work with CAD tools, GD&T, and data analysis to produce reliable hardware and reports.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, chemical or physics desired).
  • Familiarity with a variety of combustion devices.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in a related field.
  • Computer aided design (CAD) experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop combustion devices (injectors, chambers, nozzles, thrusters, igniters, and related components) for rocket engines and spaceflight systems.
  • Own the complete product life-cycle from initial requirements through flight qualification including design, manufacturing, test support, data reviews, and non-conforming hardware handling.
  • Report to a Combustion Devices Manager within the Engines business unit.
  • Apply background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer and structural mechanics to ensure safe and repeatable space flight.
