Job summary

Blue Origin Engines is seeking an engineer to design and develop combustion devices for rocket engines and spaceflight systems. You will own the product lifecycle from requirements through flight qualification, including design, manufacturing support, test data reviews, and reporting.

The role requires a background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and structural mechanics, with a passion for safe, reliable spaceflight and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team in a demanding

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, chemical or physics)
  • Familiarity with a variety of combustion devices
  • 2+ years of industry experience in a related field
  • CAD experience
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to perform structural hand calculations and basic/iterative FEA
  • Familiarity with data analysis and data processing

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop combustion devices (injectors, chambers, nozzles, thrusters, igniters, and related components) for rocket engines and spaceflight systems.
  • Oversee the complete product life-cycle from initial requirements through flight qualification including design, manufacturing, test support, data reviews, non-conforming hardware processing, and technical reporting.
