Madison County is seeking a Clerk II - Declarations and Exemptions in Edwardsville, IL to handle real estate transfer documentation and exemptions, and assist taxpayers. You will complete property transfer cards, prepare and copy declaration sheets, process Homestead exemptions, maintain accurate entitlement records, and answer inquiries at the front desk.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both at the front counter and on the phone are essential.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Zero to six months related experience required.

Mansioni

• Completes transfer of property cards for parcels in the county, recording ownership names and sale prices.
• Prepares and copies Declaration Sheets and forwards copies to State of Illinois, County Treasurer and Local Township Assessor offices.
• Processes Homestead and General Homestead Exemptions and - or state/local exempt properties; prepares applications and ensures correct data entry.
• Maintains accurate records of those entitled to exemptions.
• Performs front counter and telephone duties; answers inquiries, verifies discrepancies, and provides information.
• Performs additional duties as required within the scope of the job.
