Job summary

EMC in Des Moines is seeking a Property Risk Control Field Technical Specialist to lead on-site inspections of commercial accounts and assess property risk exposures, including fire protection, natural catastrophes, and structural risks.

You will create detailed surveys, provide risk improvement recommendations, and work with underwriting to inform pricing and policy decisions while training clients and internal teams on risk controls.

Qualifications

• Five years of large property loss control or risk assessment experience.
• CFPS or CSP certifications preferred.
• Strong hazard identification in Middle Market/Large Account spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections of commercial accounts to evaluate property risk exposures.
• Provide accurate risk evaluations to support underwriting decisions.
• Develop Property Loss Expectancies (PML, NLE, MFL).
• Communicate hazards and practical risk reduction recommendations.
• Train clients and internal teams on risk controls.
• Review fire protection plans and NFPA/FM guidelines.
