Job summary

EMC is seeking a risk control specialist to perform on-site evaluations for sophisticated policyholders and to develop customized strategies to minimize insured losses. You will consult with policyholders and collaborate with underwriting, sales, and claims to support renewal decisions.

You will deliver advanced training, conduct hazard control assessments, ergonomic surveys, and risk analysis while expanding EMC’s risk control services through agency visits and industry presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of risk control or safety experience.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes on-site risk control surveys of current and prospective policyholders' operations.
• Assesses exposure potential and existing controls; prepares risk control reports.
• Provides consultation on operations, claims trends, and insurance recommendations.
• Customizes consultative services to address loss drivers and exposures.
• Serves as a primary technical resource within specialized focus areas.
• Collaborates with Risk Control team and subject matter experts on advanced questions.
• Delivers updates to underwriting, sales and claims to aid renewal decisions.
• Markets risk control functions through agency visits and presentations.
• Delivers on-site loss control surveys and training.
• Identifies accounts for ongoing or focused short-term service.
• Analyzes losses and exposures for large accounts to develop service plans.
• Develops tailored services such as hazard control assessments and ergonomic surveys.
