Job description

Overview:

The Commercial Leasing Property Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of commercial real estate leases across the United States. Key responsibilities include negotiating lease agreements, ensuring tenant compliance, coordinating escalated repair and maintenance issues, developing build out and furniture plans, coordinating utility setups and signage installations, managing branch closures, relocations, and new branch openings. The role also involves maintaining positive landlord-tenant relationships and supporting lease-related transactions from inception to completion. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills, a solid understanding of commercial leasing terms, sharp negotiation abilities, and proven critical thinking skills. They must be capable of managing multiple properties and complex projects independently and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial properties, ensuring compliance with lease terms and property standards
  • Draft, review, and track lease agreements, amendments, renewals, and terminations in coordination with legal and leasing teams
  • Maintain accurate records of all lease documentation, rent schedules, critical dates, and tenant correspondence
  • Coordinate property maintenance and repairs with internal teams or third-party vendors to ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Collaborate with leasing agents, brokers, and legal counsel during tenant negotiations, move-ins, and move-outs
  • Oversee move-ins and move-outs by developing construction and furniture plans, coordinating utility setup and signage installation, and selecting appropriate national vendors to support preventative maintenance programs
  • Take on additional strategic project initiatives as assigned, ensuring timely execution and alignment with broader departmental goals
  • Prepare reports for senior management on property performance, lease activity, and tenant matters

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial property or lease management
  • Some post-secondary education preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial real estate leases and lease language, particularly in retail and office environments, with the ability to manage a high volume of lease activity and complex projects under tight deadlines
  • Experience with negotiating favorable lease terms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in property management and lease administration software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in a commercial real estate setting
  • Familiarity with retail, office, or industrial property management environments
  • Strong business acumen and ability to work well across different functions
  • Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel, Outlook and familiar with some lease management software
  • Proven ability to diagnose problems using critical thinking skills and identify and drive appropriate solutions

Salary Range:$66,000 - $80,000annually, depending on experience and geographic location.
Please note that actual compensation offered may vary based on local pay requirements, and will meet or exceed state-specific minimum wage or salary thresholds.
