Job summary

Greystar in Mount Prospect, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for keeping building systems, common areas, and grounds clean, safe, and functional. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, complete make-readies for new residents, and coordinate with vendors as needed.

This full-time, on-site role requires EPA refrigerant certifications, a valid driver's license, OSHA safety awareness, and the ability to travel to other properties if required.

Qualifications

• EPA certifications Type 1 and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling.
• All certifications as required by State and Local jurisdictions.
• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on property.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders from resident requests and preventative maintenance by diagnosing the defect and repairing per policies and codes.
• Completes the make-ready process to prepare vacant apartments, including pre-move-out inspection, punch list, scheduling vendors, obtaining supplies, and inspecting work.
• Follows procedures to access materials and track inventory, returning unused items and notifying the supervisor for re-ordering.
• Completes documentation and paperwork to ensure service requests are documented and tracked.
• Maintains grounds and amenities by cleaning, pressure-washing areas, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
• Supports cost-cutting by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.
• Attends safety meetings and complies with OSHA and safety requirements.
• Inspects contractor work to verify quality and compliance with specs.
• Participates in routine property inspections and communicates needs to management.
