Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician in San Jose to perform technical and mechanical work ensuring building components meet safety and quality standards. The role requires hands-on maintenance across plumbing, electrical systems, and related troubleshooting, with familiarity in Yardi and HappyCo preferred.

You will handle work orders, complete make-ready tasks for vacant units, manage inventory, and support safe operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in painting, plumbing, electrical systems, and troubleshooting/diagnostic repairs.
• Proficiency with property management and maintenance platforms such as Yardi and HappyCo preferred.
• EPA certifications Type 1 and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling are required.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders from resident requests and preventative maintenance.
• Prepares units for leasing by completing the make-ready process and coordinating vendors.
• Tracks inventory and secures materials from maintenance department.
• Documents service requests accurately for tracking and reporting.
• Maintains grounds, common areas, and amenities with cleaning and upkeep tasks.
• Contributes to cost-control by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible.
