Job summary

The Community Builders Inc. in Washington, DC seeks a Service Technician II to respond swiftly to service requests, prepare apartment turnover, and maintain property conditions.

You’ll perform interior, exterior, and site work with building trades skills and work independently while delivering excellent customer service across the team. The role reports to the site manager and involves on-site work five days a week, with on-call and weekend duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; trade school or 3 years in property management or hospitality.
• Minimum of 3 years advanced hands-on repair in two or more building trades.
• REAC/HQS experience preferred.
• Industry certifications (NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies in a timely, professional manner.
• Monitor preventive maintenance tasks for systems, equipment and components.
• Prepare repairs for vacant apartments for new move-ins.
• Maintain grounds and common spaces through cleaning, trash, landscaping, snow removal.
• Prepare repairs for REAC/HQS inspections and audits.
• Maintain shop/inventory with safety mindset and PPE.
• Weekend work, on-call rotation and emergency duties.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with technical guidance to Maintenance Tech I.
