Job summary

Greystar Real Estate Partners, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform technical and mechanical work ensuring community facilities meet company standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

You will diagnose issues from resident requests, complete make-ready tasks for vacants, and uphold Greystar’s high standards across grounds, exteriors, and interiors while coordinating with contractors and vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Must provide own hand tools and be skilled with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to diagnose and fix problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication with residents and staff.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively for internal/external contacts.
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheets; property management system experience preferred.
• Strong math skills for administrative and legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Assists and completes work orders from resident requests and routine maintenance.
• Oversees and completes the make-ready process for vacant units and pre-move-in inspections.
• Develops standards for grounds, exteriors, interiors, and common areas to reflect Greystar quality.
• Inspects work by team members; develops corrective action as needed.
• Inspects contractors and vendors to verify quality and compliance.
• Maintains inventory of spare parts and orders supplies within budget.
• Completes monthly preventative maintenance procedures.
• Supports budgeting for regular repairs and capital projects.
• Assists in cost-cutting by repairing rather than replacing when feasible.
• Conducts safety meetings and keeps OSHA/compliance current.
• Demonstrates customer service by addressing resident questions and feedback.
