Job summary

Boutique Recruiting is seeking a Property Accountant II to manage accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of 5-8 multifamily properties in the Atlanta area. The role owns monthly statements, bank reconciliations, GL activity, accruals and prepaid expenses, partnering with Property Managers and operations to ensure accurate reporting.

Ideal candidates have 4-6 years of multifamily property accounting experience, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to guide junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 4-6 years of property management accounting experience.
• Multifamily real estate accounting experience required.
• Experience working with property management accounting software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting.
• Entrata experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for a portfolio of 5-8 properties.
• Track and reconcile cash receipts and disbursements with GL records.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor property expenses including mortgage and insurance payments.
• Record and track accruals, prepaid expenses, and other property-level activity.
• Partner with Property Managers and operations to resolve accounting issues.
• Assist with audits, internal reviews, and management reporting requests.
• Provide guidance to junior accounting team members as needed.

Position Title: Property Accountant II

Salary Range: $75,000-99,000 / Year, DOE

A growing multifamily real estate organization is seeking an experienced Property Accountant II to manage the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of approximately 5-8 properties. This role will own monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, general ledger activity, accruals, and prepaid expenses while partnering closely with Property Managers and operations teams to maintain accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has 4-6 years of multifamily property accounting experience, strong technical accounting skills, and the confidence to provide guidance to more junior members of the accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take greater ownership while positioning themselves for continued advancement into a senior-level accounting role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements for a portfolio of approximately 5-8 multifamily properties
• Track and reconcile cash receipts and disbursements while maintaining accurate general ledger records
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Monitor key property expenses including mortgage and insurance payments to ensure timely processing
• Record and track accruals, prepaid expenses, and other property-level accounting activity

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 4-6 years of property management accounting experience
• Multifamily real estate accounting experience required
• Experience working with property management accounting software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting
• Excellent organization, planning, and analytical problem-solving skills
• Clear communicator who is dependable, accountable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
