Job summary

Curran Recruiting is seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of multifamily properties in Atlanta. You will be responsible for monthly closes, reconciliations, and owner reporting while collaborating with property management and operations teams.

The ideal candidate brings 4–6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in real estate or property accounting, and strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP. Yardi experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–6 years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in real estate or property accounting.
• Experience with full-cycle property accounting, monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of multifamily properties, including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations.
• Lead monthly close activities including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Review income statements, balance sheets, and property-level financial results for accuracy.
• Prepare and distribute monthly financial and owner reporting packages.
• Partner with property management teams on expense coding, accruals, rent reporting, and other accounting matters.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations.
• Prepare cash flow reporting, property distributions, debt payments, and capital funding requests.
• Review aged payables and assist with timely payment processing.
• Support property-level budgeting and forecasting.
• Assist with annual audits and tax preparation by coordinating with external auditors and tax professionals.
• Research accounting discrepancies and prepare special financial analyses as needed.

A growing real estate organization is seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to manage the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of multifamily properties. This position will own full-cycle property accounting, monthly close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and owner reporting while partnering closely with property management and operations teams.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in real estate or property accounting, understands U.S. GAAP, and is comfortable independently managing multiple properties and deadlines.
