Job summary

The Scion Group is hiring a Porter/Gatekeeper to provide optimal care and maintenance of the property’s common areas. The role involves cleaning, upkeep, and light maintenance to support a resident-focused environment.

Responsibilities include following SOPs, performing landscaping tasks, maintaining lighting and irrigation, and ensuring safety compliance. This on-site position requires flexibility, reliability, and a proactive service attitude.

Qualifications

• High school/GED or trade school diploma and one year of full-time lawn/grounds maintenance experience.
• Efficient in reading instructions and documenting labor and materials.
• Record of punctuality and dependability, ability to work with deadlines, and schedule flexibility for after-hours and weekend emergencies.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to stand 8 hours or longer per day and lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical condition of the property according to The Scion Group’s SOP, OSHA and Industry standards.
• Perform physically demanding work to maintain the asset and other property features to minimize liability.
• Remove trash and debris from the common areas on a continuous basis.
• Sweep and remove debris from curbs, parking areas, walkways and stairways as scheduled.
• Maintain and repair loose stairwell treads and exterior lighting; report inventory.
• Mow lawns, trim planting beds, rake leaves, and manage landscaped areas.
• Apply weed and feed, seed and water as needed; install seasonal plantings and decorative features.
• Trim and prune trees and shrubs as directed; maintain irrigation and fountains as needed.
• Clean pool and spa per manufacturer specs; perform routine pool equipment maintenance.
• Know emergency procedures including shutoffs and access to sewer cleanouts and fuse panels.
• Promote safety to limit property loss and injuries; keep drainage grills clear.
• Pressure-wash sidewalks, buildings, pool decks; assist in snow removal.
• Undertake training related to job duties as deemed necessary; maintain professional appearance.
