Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a Property Claims Adjuster to manage claims from initial report through resolution at our Boston area location. This role involves liability assessment, information gathering, coverage review, appraisals, and negotiation of settlements.

We may consider an Associate Adjuster level for candidates with developing claims experience. Excellent customer service and strong communication are essential in this multi-line role with travel up to 10% and catastrophe duty

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
• Experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across territories.
• Knowledge of casualty coverages and claims process stages.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents and others.
• Identifies complex issues and handles claims on a good faith basis.
• Handles 1st and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, negotiates settlements.
• Responds to inquiries, makes decisions and closes files as needed.
• Interprets policies and applies coverages to assigned losses.
• Keeps all parties updated on process and status; supports other duties as needed.
