Western National Insurance Group is seeking a Claims Manager to lead the Property team, guiding claims operations for 1st party property lines and ensuring quality handling and service. You will coach staff, monitor compliance, and drive performance to meet company goals.

The ideal candidate brings 5–7+ years in claims processing, supervisory experience, and strong negotiation skills, with a Bachelor’s in Business and CPCU designation preferred.

Qualifications

• Five to seven or more years of directly related claims processing and case management experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of applicable state laws, regulations, policies, and claims practices.
• Prior supervisory or management experience with coaching and developing team members.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve complex problems.
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Sound judgment and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong organizational and facilitation skills.
• Proficiency with core systems and office technology.

Responsibilities

• Leads day-to-day operations of the assigned claims unit handling 1st party personal and commercial lines property claims.
• Monitors, oversees, and audits claims for compliance with statutes and regulations.
• Resolves complaints and informs management of significant issues.
• Manages team workload to ensure timely handling of claims.
• Coaches, directs, and develops team members to meet goals.
• Provides daily leadership through staffing, performance management, and training.
• Maintains accountability for team performance and results.
• Interprets policies and makes decisions with significant impact on the unit.
• Analyzes information to identify solutions and improvements.
• Builds relationships with teams, departments, and external partners.
• Uses negotiation to communicate and resolve issues.
• Participates in industry groups and shares best practices.
