Qualifications

  • 7+ years in Property & Casualty claims with leadership experience.
  • Experience handling complex or litigated claims.
  • Experience within carrier/broker/agency claims organization.
  • Strong ability to mentor and develop staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Claims Department, mentoring staff.
  • Oversee Property & Casualty claims from first notice of loss through final resolution.
  • Review complex and high-severity claims, including settlements and reserves exceeding $250,000.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for disputed, litigated, high-value, or sensitive claims.
  • Analyze coverage issues, interpret policy language, and provide guidance on contracts, leases, and insurance provisions.
  • Partner with clients, carriers, adjusters, attorneys, and internal account teams to drive favorable claim outcomes.
  • Conduct client claims reviews and provide strategic recommendations on claim trends and exposures.
  • Oversee E&O risk management activities, policy audits, and potential professional liability exposures.
  • Coordinate with coverage counsel on complex matters and assist with claim resolution strategies.
  • Develop and improve claims procedures, workflows, reporting standards, and department best practices.

Desired Skills and Experience

7+ Property & Casualty claims experience, strong coverage analysis expertise, experience handling complex or litigated claims, and prior leadership or management experience within a carrier, brokerage, agency, or claims organization.
