Job summary

Erie Insurance Group in the United States seeks an experienced claims professional to handle property claims with discretion and judgment. The role involves investigations, estimating, reserves setting, and negotiations with plaintiffs—requiring strong accuracy and knowledge of policy interpretation.

You will support or stand in for the claims supervisor, contribute to training, and may join the Catastrophe Team as needed. A valid driver's license and related certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with five years of claims handling experience, or equivalent required; or Bachelor’s Degree with two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts investigations, interviews, and inspects damage, driving to site of damage within assigned territory or other if required.
• Prepares estimates, makes recommendations, handles coverage questions and litigation.
• Sets and maintains reserves, reviews reports, directs experts, determines coverage and claim value, negotiates with attorneys.
• Documents claim files and submits reports for closure.
• Assists in training of new claims adjusters and may participate on Catastrophe Team.
