AAA is seeking a Claims Property Adjuster to support Homeowner policy claims for the Interinsurance Exchange. The role handles low to moderate complexity claims, analyzes First Notice of Loss data, investigates, evaluates coverage, and negotiates settlements with insureds.

The position requires strong communication, timely actions, and adherence to state and federal laws. Tools include Microsoft Office and claims software; a valid license may be required in some states.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years prior claims handling experience required.
• 4-6 years property claims handling experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of claims administration best practices and procedures.
• License may be required for claims administration in certain states.

Responsibilities

• Conduct phone investigations to determine coverage and damages and obtain statements from insureds, vendors, and witnesses.
• Explain policy coverages, benefits and claims process in writing or verbally, per regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and negotiate within settlement authority to resolve first-party claims across markets.
• Coordinate with internal and external departments as required.
• May attend and participate in legal proceedings.
• Respond quickly to insured needs and problems.
