Job summary

County of Sandoval is seeking an Appraisal Assistant for the Assessor’s Office to support appraisal activities, perform on-site inspections, and help maintain property records. The role involves entering data, researching titles, and assisting taxpayers or stakeholders in finding information regarding assessments.

Responsibilities include updating files, sketching properties, taking photos, and coordinating with appraisers during protests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3 months of general office/field support experience.
• Valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
• IAAO Certification I (101) within 2 years of hire or as approved.

Responsibilities

• Assist appraisers with on-site inspections and data entry into property records.
• Support in title research and communications with property owners and agencies.
• Update and maintain property record cards and related appraisal correspondence.
• Enter permits, sales affidavits, and property model components into the system.
• Sketch properties, measure improvements, and photograph structures for records.
• Assist during protest periods by entering accurate protest information.
