Job summary

Sandoval County is seeking an Assessor's Office staff member to determine market value of residential properties using cost and market approaches. You will inspect properties, input data into CAMA, and work with owners and tax reps to resolve inquiries.

Required is a high school diploma or GED, a NM driver’s license, and IAAO training with Course 101 within one year and Course 102 within two years. This position reports to the Appraisal Supervisor and Chief Assessment Officer.

Qualifications

• Education and experience as listed: diploma or GED, plus office or field work including six months in property valuation methods as an appraiser/trainee or two years in real estate related roles.
• Valid New Mexico Driver's License and completion of IAAO Course 101 within one year of hire; Course 102 within two years.
• Strong knowledge of valuation methods, data analysis, and public-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Determine market value and property valuation for residential properties using cost and market approaches.
• Inspect properties, measure and sketch improvements, and input data into CAMA systems.
• Coordinate with property owners and tax reps, respond to inquiries, and assist with protests.
