Position Summary
Handles property claims independently, exercising discretion and judgment, and assists or acts on behalf of the claims supervisor when needed.
- This is a remote position based in Virginia, preferably in Fairfax, Loudoun County, or nearby.
- The level (Adjuster I or II) depends on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
- Company car and home work equipment provided.
- Good time management and organization skills preferred.
- Ability to travel within the territory regularly.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Investigate, interview, inspect damage, and drive to damage sites within the territory.
- Prepare estimates, make recommendations, handle coverage questions, and manage litigation.
- Set reserves, review reports, direct experts, determine coverage and claim value, and negotiate claims.
- Document files and submit reports for closure.
- Recognize subrogation opportunities and initiate action.
- Service the territory and conclude claims.
- Engage with agents and district managers.
- Assist or represent the claims supervisor, including legal proceedings.
- Complete industry training and participate in ongoing education.
- Assist in training new adjusters.
- Participate in Catastrophe Team when required.

Qualifications
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with five years claims experience, or
- Bachelor's Degree with two years claims experience.
Additional Experience
- Must reside in the assigned territory unless approved otherwise.
- Willingness to serve on the Catastrophe Team, including short-notice travel.
Designations and Licenses
- Willingness to obtain necessary licenses.
- Completion of AIC preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
