Job summary

Syntax Talent Solutions, LLC is seeking a Project/Property Accountant in Baltimore to own day-to-day and month-end accounting for a portfolio of properties. You will ensure accurate reporting and timely close processes to support management decisions.

The role requires 2+ years in accounting, knowledge of CAM/lease accounting, and proficiency with ERP software (Yardi, MRI, RealPage) and Excel. You will collaborate with property teams, assist budgets, and support audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in property accounting.
• Proven G/L, reconciliations, and month-end close experience.
• Knowledge of CAM and lease-related accounting essential.
• Proficiency with ERP software and advanced Excel for reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Experience in real estate, property management, or construction environments.
• Familiarity with Yardi, MRI, RealPage or similar systems.
• CPA progress or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned properties/projects, including G/L entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and schedules.
• Process and monitor AP/AR with proper coding and timely posting.
• Maintain and reconcile CAM, rent rolls, and property-specific schedules.
• Assist with annual budgets and periodic forecasts with property-level input.
• Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests.
• Monitor cash flow and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Collaborate with property management and project teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
