Job summary

MRK Property Management LLC is seeking a Property Accountant to manage accounting for a portfolio of properties. Reports to Property Controller and collaborates with Regional and Property Management to analyze performance and results.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least five years of property accounting experience, with proficiency in Yardi and MS Office. You will handle monthly close, bank reconciliations, budgets, and quarterly state reporting, among

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of property accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of Yardi or other property accounting software.
• Understanding of state agency reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of tenant rent activities, including collections.
• Strong financial acumen and critical thinking skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret data and recommend performance-enhancing actions.
• Knowledge of capital expenditures and qualifications for reserve accounts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment.
• Ability to establish relationships across the organization and at various hierarchical levels.

Responsibilities

• Models and instills company mission and values.
• Monthly closing of financial ledgers.
• Completes timely bank reconciliations.
• Reviews and analyzes ledger accounts.
• Reviews budgets and plans forecasting.
• Submits quarterly reporting to State Agencies.
• Completes financial reporting package.
• Addresses and resolves audit requests.
• Responds to inquiries from regional and property managers.
• Other duties as assigned.
