Job summary

Qualifications

We are seeking a Property Accountant to support the accounting and financial operations of a real estate development company. This position will work closely with the development and property management teams to maintain accurate financial records, support monthly reporting and close processes, and ensure the financial performance of the company’s real estate portfolio is properly tracked and reported.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day property accounting activities for a portfolio of real estate assets.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and monthly reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review property-level financial activity, budgets, expenses, and variances.
• Work closely with property management and development teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate records for property-related income, expenses, and transactions.
• Assist with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of property accounting experience within the real estate industry, ideally supporting commercial real estate.
• Experience with MRI or Yardi.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of property accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines.
