Job summary

Heller’s Gas is looking for a delivery technician to safely transport propane to customers, perform safety checks, and maintain equipment in the field across the service area. The role requires a Class B CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements and a clean driving record.

The job operates outdoors with regular hours and occasional after-hours calls. You will handle tank installations/removals and educate customers on safe operation and maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Relevant experience preferred.
• Familiarity with computers or mobile devices used in service.
• Have a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Hazardous Materials endorsement.
• Employment is conditional on verification of clean driving record, background check(s), and pre-employment/random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Transfer propane from bulk storage to truck and from truck to customer tanks.
• Verify tank information upon delivery including serial number.
• Perform visual inspection of equipment and report issues.
• Continuous monitoring of truck tank levels to ensure adequate supply.
• Ensure truck is stocked with all necessary tools and supplies.
• Maintain clean and mechanically sound vehicles and supplies.
• Educates customers on safe and proper operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Inspect company vehicle daily and report issues in a timely manner.
• Installation and removal of propane tanks and gas-powered appliances.
• Installation and maintenance of gas piping systems including underground lines, above ground lines, interior piping, and other related equipment.
• Diagnostic, maintenance and repair work related to propane tanks, supply systems and gas-powered appliances.
• Performs inspections and leak tests of supply systems and equipment.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
