Job summary

Lakes Gas Co in Minnesota is seeking a Customer Service Representative to handle walk-in, phone, and email inquiries while promoting our business to the community. You’ll join a family-owned team at one of our 60+ local offices and deliver outstanding service with a friendly, small-town approach.

The ideal candidate has top-notch people skills, basic computer proficiency (Word/Excel), and strong data-entry ability.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with people.
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software (Word, Excel).
• Strong data entry skills to maintain customer data and inventories.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to learn and navigate web-based applications for the propane industry.
• Read and interpret work orders, shipping papers and invoices after brief training.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to walk-in, phone, and email contacts.
• Coordinate with Branch Manager to schedule service work.
• Close sales on inbound and outbound calls and emails.
• Solicit and collect payments on past-due invoices and manage customer balances.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions and perform reconciliations.
• Process mail and run errands as needed (valid driver’s license required).
• Make daily bank deposits and assist with weekly/monthly reporting.
• Order office supplies and manage forms per procedures.
• Code vendor invoices for payment.
• Lift up to 30 pounds to assist customers with cylinder fills.
