Job Description

The field supervision of construction projects, including interfacing with the project owner or agent, scheduling crews and subcontractors, communicating claims to the Project Manager, and determining “as built” quantities of work performed.

Requirements

• Education: Minimum qualifications include a High School Graduate with at least two years of experience in construction supervision.

Skills

• Leadership and negotiation skills.
• Strong conversational, analytical, and observational skills to organize, control, and manage field operations in road construction.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, methods, and techniques used in road construction.
• Ability to identify work defects and faults and stages where they are most noticeable.
• Understanding and interpretation of contract terms and specifications.
• Effective inspection skills for contract compliance.
• Mathematical and calculation skills.
• Knowledge of construction lien laws.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Bluebeam.

Job Responsibilities

• Enforce safety programs and requirements.
• Understand plans and owner specifications, including subcontracted scopes.
• Sequence activities properly in roadway construction.
• Communicate schedule expectations clearly to internal teams and subcontractors.
• Ensure contract work meets specifications and supervise subcontractor compliance.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs and determine material needs.
• Prepare detailed resource requirements based on project plans.
• Coordinate subcontractors and monitor progress.
• Assist in preparing schedules, claims, invoices, and other documentation.
• Monitor daily project costs.
