Job description

Floyd Construction is a growing General Contractor and Construction Management Firm specializing in high end community clubhouses, amenities, and commercial construction throughout the greater Tampa Bay, Ocala, Orlando and Sarasota / Bradenton areas since 1984.

We are currently looking to fill the position of Project Superintendent . We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual to grow with us and become a leader in their field. As a project superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing projects, overseeing subcontractors and vendors, material procurement, working with inspectors and municipalities, problem-solving and customer management. If you are detail oriented, like to solve the occasional puzzle, and love to put out a quality product, we have a great opportunity for you.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Schedule, manage and oversee subcontractors and suppliers
• Work with customers and design professionals
• Work with building officials and municipalities
• Identify potential problems with plans and specifications and find a resolution
• Procure materials for jobs from various suppliers
• Resolve specification, selection and plan conflicts and design professionals
• Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all potential and existing customers
• Perform all other duties assigned
• Strategic Orientation – Sees the big picture. Understands the goals, priorities, and strategies of the job and how they relate to our customer, and can prioritize work accordingly
• Processes Procedures - Ensures accurate processes and procedures for self and others to use and seek ways to improve existing processes, adjusting, or recommending improvements
• Problem Solving and Decision Making – While making good decisions, use a mix of analysis, wisdom, experience, and discernment. Assess needs and anticipate problems, and prioritize to meet deadlines

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field or Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction

Proficient with Microsoft Platform (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)

Familiarity with square foot and square yard dimensions Knowledge of Geometry / Math

Bidding and plan take-off experience General Knowledge of residential and commercial construction

Strong customer service skills Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Cooperative attitude

Please Note : This is a working superintendent role and traveling aroundOcala / Tampa Bay / Sarasota area is required.

Office Location : Tampa

Compensation : Negotiable based on experience
