Job Summary

This role will be responsible for coordinating scope of work team activities and supporting the Project Managers (PMs). With some supervision, perform functions as a scheduler and/or commodity tracker for major projects. Develop, maintain, and analyze less complex scope of work schedules using the assigned system. Provide integrated cost-loaded, resource-loaded, and logic-driven schedules, as applicable. Perform schedule maintenance, collect progress data, develop and implement scope of work schedule/status reports, and provide accurate information to the scope of work execution team.

Project Scheduler Associate – Project Scheduler Principal
What You’ll Do
  • Define activities, durations, work sequences, and relationship logic to develop project plans and milestones, ensuring all logic supports the required level of detail and meets standards.
  • Ensure all scope and deliverables are accounted for.
  • Develop fully integrated system schedules (including resource loading and leveling) for complex and intermediate scope of work, utilizing critical path methodology based on work packages and planners’ work lists.
  • Lead schedule review meetings with stakeholders, incorporate feedback, and create schedules with clear minutes and action items. Alert team to schedule risks and issues.
  • Communicate schedule status to stakeholders. Manage adherence to AEP project management standards and assist in project management activities.
  • Update progress, acquire information, baseline schedules, develop commodity curves, track metrics, and support project/outage teams. Provide status reports as needed.
  • Prepare and analyze metrics reports or KPIs. Mentor junior schedulers. Perform schedule and cost integration, including SPI/CPI analyses.
  • Develop What-If schedules to address problems, incorporating activity and logic changes to minimize schedule impact.
What We’re Looking for:

Technical Expertise: Effective time management, organizational skills, attention to detail, and goal achievement. Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially complex spreadsheets.

Leadership and Guidance: Self-motivated, able to work independently, and collaborate well with others. Capable of performing current scheduling techniques and analyses.

Planning and Organization: Supportive of AEP policies and able to work overtime, including shift work and travel. Capable of performing physical duties at various sites.

Problem Solving and Initiative: Skilled in reviewing scope, client requirements, and project objectives to develop effective delivery strategies.

Business Awareness: Willing to perform site walkdowns, climb ladders, and be aware of hazardous conditions, including radiation safety for nuclear positions.

What You’ll Get:

Project Scheduler Associate (Grade 05): $61,000-$75,000

Basic Qualifications:
  • No experience required with a qualified Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • With a High School Diploma, a minimum of 2 years’ qualified experience.
  • Qualified degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college, such as Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or Project Management.
  • Experience in utility operations, work processes, and procedures, including design, operations, planning, project management, cost tracking, forecasting, budgets, and construction or maintenance of systems or equipment.
Project Scheduler (Grade 06): $73,000-$87,000
Basic Qualifications:

Education:

  • Dependent on experience, with qualifications in related fields. High School Diploma or GED with 5 years’ experience; Associate's degree with 3 years; Bachelor's degree with 1 year.

Experience:

  • Utility-specific operations knowledge, experience in design, operations, planning, project management, cost analysis, forecasting, budgets, and construction or maintenance systems.

License/Certifications:

  • Certifications like CCMP, CETa, IQCP, PMP, RMP are not required at this level but are preferred for career progression.
Compensation Data

Grade: SP20-005

Range: $61,647.00 - $77,057.50 USD

The Physical Demand Level is Sedentary Work, involving minimal exertion and mostly sitting, with occasional walking or standing.
